Keeping the blogosphere posted on the goings on of the world of submarines since late 2004... and mocking and belittling general foolishness wherever it may be found. Idaho's first and foremost submarine blog. (If you don't like something on this blog, please E-mail me; don't call me at home.)
George Orwell said it best..."we sleep soundly in our beds because rough men stand ready in the night to visit violence on those who would do us harm." Thanks to all the brave men and women who took it upon themselves to make a difference.
A few of the fireworks at Pearl Harbor misfired & didn't get enough altitude - they ended up hitting the sails of the Columbia & Topeka who were moored at the pier everything was launched from. Nobody was hurt & nothing was damaged but it certainly made for bonus entertainment watching them go off & watching the topside watches skitter around from one side of the sail to the other.
Have a great day with the thanks of a (mostly) grateful nation.
ReplyDeleteThey couldn't get a shot of the actual SSN, and took one of the other North Carolina (BB-55)?
ReplyDeleteIncongruous captions make me smile.
