Simple Pleasures

I enjoy the simple things in life. I'm happy now because I have a wonderful family. I'm also happy that the local store is finally carrying Grape Crush. I also like finding cool submarine pictures, like this one of USS Pasadena (SSN 752) in Yokosuka, with Mount Fuji in the background:

    It makes me happy to see Pasadena the day after Thanksgiving. I had duty in Yokosuka onboard Pasadena in '05 on Thanksgiving day and prepared the best American meal I could for my shipmates stuck overseas on Turkey day. Thanks for posting this great picture!

    Coming in past Ballast Point topside in SD after West Pac twice... A close second, getting out of the Navy after 4yrs and flying over Pt.Loma enroute home knowing I made the right decision.

    Coming back to the boat in any foreign port and seeing the flag flying. Korea, PI, Japan, Turkey, Italy, Spain, France, Panama, Brazil, Venezuela, Peru, Ecuador, Columbia, Mexico, Canada, UAE, Bahrain, and a half dozen small islands that call themselves countries, the flag flying back aft made me very happy. Since I retired, seeing the flag flying after returning from Germany, Denmark, Ireland, and Israel has sparked the same feeling of being very happy with where we live.

    Couldn't agree with EMCS/SS Ret. more. I have my flag flying everyday. Seeing others fly the flag and understand the meaning of the flag and the sacrifices made for this country makes me very happy.

    Of course my wife, kids and grand kids complete the happiness!

    Knowing my family is secure.

    Knowing I have a job.

    Realizing that Thanksgiving came and went and we had dinner in a hotel and it sucked bad but my family still loves me.

    Realizing I have totally revamped my cover to my book about my 1st four years in the navy and it looks even better than before; go to my blog and check it out, thanks.
