This is a bit off point,however, it sure is relevant. I was at the CSS4 CoC on friday. I flew home on sunday and I had the chance to sit next to a former member of the Triton. Ken Zimmer is 76 and was a part of the transit around the world. Boy was it a treat to just sit and talk with him. Or should I say, listen to him. What a nice guy. The pride he has in the force was nice to hear. I thought back to the many posts here talking about taking the time to listen to the old timers. He reached Master Chief, as did his daughter. I sat there for 2 hours and it felt like 2 minutes. Thanks Ken, you made my day..
The crew sang it loud at every sub ball, and every time the COB and I were threatened by squadron. And every time we asked the crew to start again. Hehe.
Way off topic, but the Sec-Nav thinks he's one step closer to putting females on subs. Now, it's up to Congress. How many Bubbleheads do we have in Congress anyway?
Has that Jackass JO from the Zumwalt years even set foot on board a boat during his two years on active duty?
Unless all females wishing to serve on a boat want to spend their careers as Missile Techs and/or weapon DHs to retire as MT1s/04s, then most females will think twice about picking subs for their first choice. They are not coming to fast attacks. Not now not ever. Where would you put them?
