Update 0743 27 July: Here's another video, this one from the Navy website:
Submarine Independent Duty Corpsman Recognized for Efforts
And while I'm at it, for no reason other than I want to get it on the server in case I need to use it for some future unforeseen circumstance, here's the most recent picture of your friendly neighborhood Submarine blogger:
Interview in the wardroom? PR rolls on.

ReplyDeleteLOL
And in other news...SECNAV Mabus elects to pull the Silver Star of an O-6 Vietnam Vet. Looks like ordnance on target.
ReplyDelete"In liberty port we like to get together and do sightseeing and enjoy the cultural changes ... "
ReplyDeleteI guess he wasn't allowed to say "LBFM's" on TV!
Maybe he's the guy who leads the underway prayer group....you know the type I mean.
ReplyDeleteHow very Uncle Fester of you.
ReplyDeleteDarn. Stole my line. I though uncle Fester bought the blog. :-)
ReplyDeleteThe XO is happy to have the HM1 as a “backup” to himself? Really?
ReplyDeleteDoes the XO order sailors to get better but needs a trained health care professional "backup" for those who don’t?
Are XO’s MD’s these days or just super egos?
"In liberty port we like to get together and do sightseeing and enjoy the cultural changes " via the buddy system.
ReplyDeleteMy sailors who went out in these places by themselves to visit certain establishments always came back, it was the ones with buddies who always had someone to egg them on.
Try enjoying cultural changes from 1700 - 2200....
Where exactly did this crap originate from? Do we really need to plaster LongHorn regalia on every inch of the boat?
ReplyDeleteIf this was a recruiting video, we could have done better with the wet trainer. Let's include a 30sec bite from a NUB or two who tells the camera "how happy" they are to graduate BESS and move on to the torments of the boat thereafter. That might give some explanation to normal people in the world as to what we do in life and why. But then NNPI is like a frigged first date who says NO!!!...while the guy is trying to lean in for a kiss goodnight.
Joel clearly has no problem with exterior illumination in the 2nd pic here. Gotta say that's a good one. Can you say "Running lights On?"
My son told me "Dad, the Navy is not for me". And I agreed!
ReplyDeleteSad, we have pussy everywhere, only in a diverse manner.
Joel, is that your impression of
ReplyDelete"uncle fester deep throats a daikon"?
hagar
For some reason that Lou Gossett Jr. line from An Officer and a Gentleman comes to mind: Only two things from Texas boy: Steers and queers. I don't see no horns . . .
ReplyDeleteJoel, Hoping that is a compact fluorescent rather than an incandescent bulb.

Captain USNR-retired Wade Sanders was and is a pig. He is serving a 37 month sentence for being caught with child porn. While SecNav is mum on the reasons, my guess is that the 'awarding' of the Silver Star 20 to 25 years after the supposed action under less than exacting standards make this a good call. I had met Asst Sec Sanders a few times while I was a reservist and did not have a high opinion of him then.

Bah.... all PR.
ReplyDeleteThat's guy is a damn fine A-ganger, but after knowing him for many years, I know there is no way he is just "sightseeing".
In any case, glad to see a friend do a little PR.
