Keeping the blogosphere posted on the goings on of the world of submarines since late 2004... and mocking and belittling general foolishness wherever it may be found. Idaho's first and foremost submarine blog. (If you don't like something on this blog, please E-mail me; don't call me at home.)
What do you think of our effort this year? Personally, I'm a little disappointed; not really submarine-related. Here's a much better "Spirit Spot" from last year.
Taxpayer funded fake rivalry between two military branches of the same country. What is the point? They just cut 3,000 sailors but can pay for animated cartoons.
Can't help but wonder if it was lame animated cartoons like this that made Rickover want to see the Naval Academy shut down. Can't blame him if so...a man can only take so much.
Really??? This is the best we can do??? Oh yea, can hear all the youngster running to the recruiting office to be submariners now! Did a Dolphin wearer approve this? If so, dude, turn in your fish!
I saw this and thought what a waste of time and effort that this was the best the submarine force could do. No imagination wait it just struck me typical nuclear fashion narrow minded.
It was lame, but you know a lot of people had to approve it. There were probably some JOs who got tasked with it and just wanted it over with. I can't blame them.
This is an Army one, but for a good spirit spot, check out the brilliant "Shake Weight" spot from a couple years ago.
Like someone said above, whatever Dolphin wearer approved the SUBFORCE spot needs to turn in his fish...he has obviously lost his "edge" (but probably keeps a mean training binder!).
I don't want to live on this planet anymore. And 3363--I really should have gone to FSU. GT had 5 guys to every girl, and they were ugly even by Navy standards.
My question is this: When the hell did we go from being the United States Navy to America's Navy? Sounds like something that got cooked up on Comedy Central.
I wish both teams could lose.

ReplyDeleteLame! I love the "Global force for good" stolen from Starship Troopers.
ReplyDeleteWoefully pathetic! Just another piece of evidence that our senior leadership in the submarine force is completely out of touch with reality.
ReplyDeletePathetic

ReplyDelete"Global Force For Good" is the official slogan of the Navy. Get with the times, man :)
ReplyDeleteAlso, that video is the best way to make my Submarine recruiting job even harder.
They really should have used this one instead...

ReplyDeletePathetic? No, it's embarrassing.

Ridiculous - how many o-rings, circuit cards, FMA overtime hours, or sailors did this cost?
ReplyDeleteAs a JO that put a lot of time and energy into our Spirit Spot submission I was disappointed we did not make CBS air time. Check out our entry!

Pretty good Jen!

Totally gay!
ReplyDeleteWTF! Is that all the sub force today is able to come up with. Now I feel bad for my son, who is a current sub sailor.
ReplyDeleteI certainly hope we didn't pay money for this lame POS. If we did, the person in charge should call 1-800 waste fraud and abuse on him or herself.

ReplyDeleteActually, THIS is the video they SHOULD have used:
