USS Annapolis Video From The Arctic
Here's a video that the wardroom of USS Annapolis (SSN 760) made for the USNA Submarine Birthday Ball this year while the submarine was in the Arctic for ICEX:
Have you ever participated in making a PSA or "Spirit Spot" on your boat?

Wish we had done something like that when we were on the ice on Hampton back in 04. We certainly had enough Academy guys to do it. The best we could come up with was a photo for Shipmate...

Somewhere there's a crew that was filmed for the documentary "Sharks of Steel". I don't remember the boat, maybe the HGRickover? Speaking of HG, maybe there are some photo op stories there. He certainly had a way of courting the politicians.

bruner? Hmm, wonder if he was on the N4 staff at CSL....no matter.
No spirit spots for me, but I have made some photos in sub books and one brief shot in a history channel movie during a harpoon shot.

re: srvd_SSN_CO
He was the CSL Radcon Officer, and I think on the TRE Team.

Sharks of steel was filmed on the Georgia and the Topeka, among others. Joel and I, the unphotogenic, spent the filming in the engineroom.

Sorry ANNAPOLIS - my first thought when I watched this video was the local Seattle TV show from the early 90s - "Almost Live" - and their weekly "Lame List." This would have been right up on top of the list.
Lame! Lame! Lame! Lame!!

For MONTPELIER's 2000 deployment, our first stop was a week in Port Everglades where we did daily in and outs filming for the History Channel's show about the book "Blind Man's Bluff". The video crew followed me around for a few hours, and I ended up with about 3 seconds of the back of my head in the show while I was on the periscope.

I'm in the old "Steel Boats, Iron Men" documentary that was filmed in early '89. Twice for about a second of camera time each scene. One where we were marching in BESS (which my class almost never did - but we joined the other two sections so it looked more impressive).
The other was where PO1 Swallow (misspelled but that's how it is pronounced) is pulling reveille Army style yelling and banging while we were in the ACU barracks in building 161. Most of us were like WTF? We never did reveille like that except that one time for the cameras.
