A Year In The Life
It was a year ago today that I found out I had esophageal cancer. Now, thanks to all the support from my friends and health care providers, I'm pretty much back to normal (just a lot thinner). The cancer is gone, and I only have to go in for follow-up CT scans every six months. Thanks to everyone here who supported me during the past year!

Now that you are thinner, hit the gym and work on your muscle tone - take advantage of that weight loss!

Joel, you've put together a helluva' nice site. Once I retire in 12 to 16 years from now, I can only hope I can devise such a fun site. You wouldn't believe who reads this blog, so I won't even start. I will say that quite a few Bubbleheads read and post to this place than you're aware of.
When I wake up at 04:30 before flicking the coffee switch, this is generally the first site I go to when checking morning E-mail. and so on.
Thank You for providing such a fun and informative site. I begin to wonder if you fully realize what kind of an impact you have on all of us. Trust me, it's huge!
You've conjectured and navigated your way through some serious life changes. Obviously you're the better man for it. Quite a few of us thank the fuck Christ that you're still around.
Maintain course & speed as you always have!

Sure am glad to know you're doing well and beating cancer. Besides the obvious need your family has for your continued presence, your extended family of shipmates here rejoice for having you around to give us an outlet to continue to be happy, bitchin' sailors!
