Ice Camp Blog

Once again, they'll be blogging from the Ice Camp for the ICEX; here's the first entry for ICEX-09. For those who are interested, you can check out the archives from ICEX-07.

While you're at it, you could check out the recently-posted Summer 2008 edition of Undersea Warfare magazine; lots of good articles in this one.

Regarding the recent light posting, I went back to work last Monday, so that's been taking most of my energy. I expect posting to return to normal as I do over the next few weeks.

ICEX=YAWNEX. Besides pictures of polar bears standing with their front paws on the rudder, does all this effort serve some grand purpose? Hmmm...got to be other things we can do to show we are viable. Besides wearing blue cammies that is.

"does all this effort serve some grand purpose? "

1) skills unpracticed atrophy.

2) Everyone else is up there. (or will be soon)

3) a) oil
b) NW passage
c) at the North Pole, you're closer to every world capital north of 35 than most of those are to each other.

My Brother was th CO on the SSN22 when they encountered that Polar bear. I remember when it happened, it made national news.... It was pretty cool to watch it and then come to find out, it was my brothers sub. It was cool, because we never hear much of anything, which is the way it should be, but to hear about it on CNN. very funny. Reid

Rest well, but not for too long, Joel...you have some new competition on the blogging scene, from no less than the TOTUS.

Suspected PAO hottie is on Facebook. Not bad, but her hair is up and she's wearing SDBs...so bring your imagination.

That TOTUS thing is fucking stupid. The only thing I hate more than left wing nutjobs is right wing nutjobs.

"Hatred" and the f-word -- yeah, with that all of your profound eloquence, prior anon, you're sure to be going places.

Who knows, maybe Rahm Emanuel is still hiring?

You might want to bring a comic book or Mad Magazine with you, though. Looks like your sense of the absurd could use a workout, and Lord knows there's plenty of that in the White House these days. Wouldn't want you to get all overwhelmed and psychotic over simple, humorous things.

You should try Mad Magazine sometime, it might bring up your SAT score by improving your reading comprehension, which, based on your comment to my comment, is markedly substandard. Typical for a RWNJ.

The TOTUS thing was just another good idea suffering from piss-poor implementation. Maybe it's funny if you're a right-wing Obama hater. Oh no, there's the "h" word again, oh goodness me!
