We Got The Sunuvabitch

Abu Musab Al-Zarqawi is finally dead. Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. Interestingly, Strategy Page had a post yesterday predicting his imminent "martyrdom". As expected, the folks at Democratic Underground aren't very happy.

The MilBlog Ring HQ will, I'm sure, have the most up-to-date news and analysis throughout the day.

Update 2352 08 June: Head over to Hot Air to check out the Airstrike Video Remix...

How can you not be happy? Even if one opposes the war, this SOB deserved to die for so many reasons. I just hope it turns out that it was a Navy aircraft that dropped the 500lb bomb. Then we could lord it over the USAF.

Plus there was a 25, 000,000 boounty on his head. It should paid to the Navy guys who servied the jet and the SF guys who got the job done. Now that would be a bonus worth paying!!!!!

We really need to increase the yield on our weapons. The pictures I saw of the body looked rather benign after 2 500 pounders. I would have hoped that in that small a strike area, with those weapons there should have only been a DNA smudge.
My preference for this animal would have been a rusty K-Bar applied by a SEAL.
But in any event, our boys done well!!! One less hero for the Islamic world.
