New Shirt Design From My Old Boat
Over at Rontini's BBS, one of the posters got a new T-shirt that was apparently put out by the crew of my old boat USS Jimmy Carter (SSN 23):
Does that kick ass or what? I totally need one of those. (Luckily, I'm going to Bangor next month for a change of command, so I'll probably be able to pick one up.)
Also, speaking of things that submarine crewmembers generate (how's that for a smooth segue), some crewmembers from USS Augusta (SSN 710) have started a blog that's worth a visit or 10.
And speaking of submarine-related websites, a Submarine wife has a newish blog that's pretty good.
(The last two items were found at The Sub Report.)

ty for the link to the "10 Boat" blog. After 22 years in the batter's box the USS Augusta will de-activate in October '07. Going down for the full count this time.

Very cool. ...hey, while we're on the topic of cool submariner schmutz...I seem to recall a friend in Nuke School having a bumper sticker that featured a BGT (Big Gray Target) in a periscope's cross-hairs and that read something to the effect of "Submarines: Come down deep where the hunting is good" or some such.
Ever seen anything like that? Know where I can get one (for my presently non-existent) car?
hmmm...Perhaps I should post a "bleg" at UT.

Well at least they didn't try to incorporate a palestinian peanut into the design. :-)

I kind of like the idea of a "south park republican" sporting a shirt that says Jimmy Carter on it.

It was my last boat, and I love her.
