If You Look Up "The Man" In The Dictionary...
...you'll see a picture of Tiger Woods next to the definition. I mean, jeez... nobody shoots a 66 at St. Andrews. Seven birdies in a nine hole stretch? He truly is "playing a game with which we are not familiar".

A couple years ago there was an article in Hemispheres magazine (that I was obviously reading on an airplane, flying home) on the PGA tour or something, and how Tiger's dominance of the sport was so comprehensive that no one even considered getting first, they all debated second, or third place. There was one account of someone famous but I forget who, who was asked by an interviewer, (something like) "Do you think you're in a good position to win?" to which the golfer responded, "Why, is Tiger injured?"

It was like when Gretzky was winning all those MVPs in a row; someone suggested just calling it the Gretzky Award, and giving it to the second-best NHL player.
