If It's Thursday, These Must Be Ducks

Get ready for another installment of that cool new Internet sensation, Thursday Morning Duck-blogging, here at TSSBP:

We took this picture of our neighborhood mallards from our bedroom window as they were walking along in our "flower box" (which right now seems to only contain grass). It's funny how we've gotten so protective of our local ducks; earlier this week, SubBasket and I saw the male just standing in the middle of the cul-de-sac in the pouring rain, and we couldn't see his mate, so we got really worried. SubBasket said, "Maybe he's lost her, and this is the last place he saw her, so he's waiting for her there." The following romantic sigh was clearly audible. (She was fine -- they were traipsing through our backyard again an hour later after the rain stopped. The two ducks, that is, not the male mallard and SubBasket.)
