Coming Forth On The Fifth
I hope everyone had a great celebration of the 236th anniversary of our Nation's Independence yesterday; it looks like San Diego took the cake for the most intense show:
Did anyone in San Diego see the big boom? How were the shows in the submarine ports last night?

No submarines here, but this was pretty awesome to see.

I guess that's what Scott Waddle has been up to...

The San Diego show was an EPIC WIN. Something every 5 year old boy wonders and asks...what would it be like if you shot them all off at once?
Another item to check off the Bucket List and smile about.
In 10 years, when the enviro-whacks finally get a judge to cancel all fireworks shows, we can look back on this one and LOL.

Looks like they "failed well" in San Diego...at least nobody was killed.
The show in Poulsbo (just outside of Bangor) was pretty good on Tuesday night!

Failing "fast" as well !!

Went down to Point Loma to watch the show. Best 15 second show ever. Lit up the whole down town from the three barges they had staged. Would love to see the critique from this one.

Saw the fireworks in Key Biscayne, after returning from a Disney cruise and before making it home (where I sit now).
Pretty good show on the Key - almost 30 full minutes.
Disney took me ashore in the Bahamas for the first time ever, after about a dozen visits vis-a-vis TRE, acoustic trials, and such nonsense. Still beautiful at night there though.
Most memorable fireworks for me on a submarine was sitting on the fairwater planes on the 74o boat at EB as EDO with my EDPO in July 1993, eating pizza and watching the celebration in New London / Groton - this was the weekend before our Christening ceremony as I recall...

circa 1980 working third shift at S1W calling my future wife to share the fireworks display in Idaho Falls. Fast forward to present time we heard the fireworks out on the Cape from either Wellfleet, Turo or Provincetown. We were racked out as we often do not see 10 pm from the vertical postion. Happy belated 4th to all

You know... it was like the first time I got laid....it was over pretty fast, but it was still spectacular!

SubFest was cancelled, so I don't know if there were any fireworks here in Groton last night. Had a really good lightning display off to the south, though....

Oh My God. Indeed, it does looks like a bald man's head. lol. Totally cool.

I would want my money back. Most of it, at least.

Were they able to detect the Higg's boson somewhere in there?
7/06/2012 6:18 PM
If there had been a bosun or ex-bosun in there, it would have gone off without a Higgs.

I wish I could see those in person. I appreciate your blog so much, nice picture of San Diego. Have a nice day!

I was there. We were watching the show in Coronado Bay and expecting the San Diego show to start from behind us and then whammo - a huge firework bananza! It was pretty sweet but it made the Coronado show look lame.

Or the XO on my first boat. Anyone on a certain Pearl 688 around 1990 knows of which I speak.
Dial 1 for fun!!!
