A Far, Far Better Place...

PatriotVoices is one of the best websites I've seen in a long time. You should read the whole thing, but I was really impressed that they included this old submarine chestnut:

Submarines are safer than aircraft...
The proof is in the fact that....
There are more aircraft in the water...
Than there are submarines in the sky!

Yes, American submarines are safer, thanks to stubborn people like the late Admiral Rickover. Our submarine parachutes just don't work as well as what the flyboys get, however. The elder President Bush was saved by his chute and then by USS Finback. Bush was aboard nearly a month, during which Finback survived several depth-charge attacks.
