Having grown up in Mississippi, I've pretty much seen it all when it comes to ridicule of small states.

But with so many famous people (Jimmy Buffet, William Faulkner, John Grisham, B. B. King, Elvis Presley, Oprah Winfrey, and Jerry Rice, to name a few) from Mississippi, it was pretty easy to take...

... until I learned that Fred Phelps is also from there. He just about balances the "state pride" scale all by himself!

While I was checking out C-Span and
the reasons why oil prices were going through the roof, the senator from Idaho was asking the same question - why is Idaho oil more expensive than Washington DCs? Well, what one exec from an oil company said was "the smaller refineries in the rocky mountain states can't keep up with updates and such..." And boy oh boy was that senator of yours gettin' red in the face! (like MAD duuude)
